The Super Sonic is a high-precision ultrasonic cleaner, specially developed for deep cleaning your bike chain and components such as derailleur pulleys. The precise ultrasonic vibrations remove factory grease, grime, oil and wax residues completely. This means your chain is cleaned deep inside the links for a spotless result. Want to switch from oil to hot wax, or get the absolute max out of your hot wax treatment? Then the Super Sonic is a must-have! Hot wax only bonds properly to a clean chain. Even if your chain looks clean on the outside, stubborn grime can still hide deep inside the links and pins. The result: the wax won’t stick. With the Super Sonic, your chain gets perfectly clean, the ideal base for hot wax.

Application

1. Fill the tank with 200 ml Striptease and 700 ml water, then connect the power.
2. Set the temperature using the TEMP+ / TEMP− buttons (up to 80 °C).
3. Wait until the liquid reaches the desired temperature before placing the chain in the tank.
4. Remove any heavy dirt manually and place the chain in the basket.
5. Lower the basket into the tank and cover it with the lid to maintain the temperature.
6. Set the cleaning time using the TIME+ / TIME− buttons (1–30 minutes), then press TIME ON/OFF to start ultrasonic cleaning. For best results, leave the chain in the Super Sonic for at least 10 minutes.
7. After cleaning, turn off the Super Sonic and let everything cool down. Clean the tank after each use.

Stable and precise ultrasonic sound waves at 40 kHz create millions of microscopic bubbles that implode against the links, removing dirt, wax and oil from every crevice. The built-in heating element warms the liquid up to 80 °C, making the cleaning process even more effective and leaving no chance for stubborn residues. With the digital controls, you can precisely set both temperature and cleaning time.

FAQ

Why use ultrasonic cleaning before hot waxing?
Ultrasonic cleaning makes your chain extremely clean. The 40 kHz vibrations create microbubbles that implode against the links, removing factory grease, oil and wax residues. This allows hot wax to bond perfectly, resulting in a quieter drivetrain and less wear.
Which fluid and ratio should I use?
The Super Sonic performs best with Striptease. Use 200–300 ml Striptease and 600–700 ml water. Prefer a different cleaner? Make sure it’s water-based. Replace the liquid once it becomes visibly dirty, or after cleaning 1–3 chains if they’re heavily contaminated.
What temperature and time are ideal?
The ideal temperature is 70–80 °C. At this range, old wax residues also melt. Minimum cleaning time: 10 minutes. If your chain is heavily soiled, start with 15–20 minutes, then repeat briefly with clean liquid if needed. Tip: remove coarse dirt manually before placing the chain in the Super Sonic.
Can I clean other parts (e.g. derailleur pulleys)?
Yes. Derailleur pulleys and loose steel parts can go in the basket. Do not submerge delicate parts, sealed bearings or electronics. Cassettes and chainrings can also fit, depending on size - place them carefully in the basket. After cleaning, lubricate derailleur pulley bearings with Galli Grease.
How do I maintain and safely use the Super Sonic?
Only adults in good condition should operate the Super Sonic. Follow a fixed routine: pre-clean – ultrasonic clean – clean the Super Sonic – dry – hot wax process. Never use flammable liquids and never let the tank boil dry. Use the lid during cleaning to maintain temperature. Disconnect the unit after use and let it cool before cleaning. Clean the tank with water and a dry cloth, avoid aggressive or flammable cleaners.
Should I rinse and dry my chain after cleaning it in the Super Sonic?
Yes. Rinse your chain with clean water to remove any cleaning fluid. Then blow it dry with the AirForce Max to make sure it’s completely dry. Hot wax your chain right after to prevent flashrust.
Can I use the ultrasonic cleaner without the basket?
We don’t recommend it. Without the basket, parts touch the bottom directly, causing the vibrations to hit too hard and potentially damage both the tank and the components. The basket keeps everything safely suspended in the bath and ensures even cleaning.
Can I also clean my cassette in the ultrasonic cleaner?
Sprockets up to 27 teeth fit inside the ultrasonic cleaner.
